Strategy

The brand

As a brand, re:cinq is the antidote to greenwashing, embellished sustainability reporting and ineffective ‘green’ software engineering. Its main purpose is to provoke thought and push the inquiry of assumptions. Because greenwashing is spearheaded by false claims, we will use ‘actually*’ to point out where re:cinq makes the difference or has expertise and models that can back up claims.

Tone of voice

As re:cinq is in the business of factual work in an industry where dishonest work is being done, credibility, clarity and consistency is essential. The tone of voice is one of the tools we used for this consistency. The tone of voice will also guide the visual language. The tone of voice is the attitude of the brand. The state of mind. The rhythm.

Typography

DM Sans

We have one typeface we use for all of our headlines, subheads, and our body copy: DM Sans. A modern, low contrast, geometric sans serif with a wide variety of applications

Colors

Primary Colours

The first primary colours consist of Cool Mint, a light and friendly blue. For more accessibility, one tint and one shade drawn from Cool Mint are also available for use in similar applications. The other primary colours are Ink, which is used for text. White and Black are also primary colours that are used as a base for all of our other colours.

Secondary Colours

The secondary colours can be found in the leaf icon of our logo. On the left, our brighter Spring Green. On the right, our stronger and more mature Jade. These two colours come with two shades for more accessibility.

    In implementing a user interface, we seamlessly integrated wireframes with re:cinq’s vision of a world where software does not contribute to global warming. The UI design process, infused with the brand’s tone of honesty and passion, resulted in a visually cohesive and engaging experience, bringing to life the essence of re:cinq’s commitment to sustainable software engineering.

    Visual Identity

    Transitioning wireframes into visually compelling designs, we adhered to re:cinq’s brand guidelines, contributing to a greener world through thoughtful, expert-led aesthetics. Leveraging a significant amount of black and white, we introduced a retro and unique effect, creating a visual identity that stands out while maintaining a commitment to sustainability. Applying the defined color palette and selecting imagery with care, our visual design process embodies re:cinq’s journey towards making a meaningful impact without compromising on style or substance.
