BBQ Lifestyle

BBQing is a lifestyle, it’s about passion, a burning desire for living a Burgundian life. We decided to create a website (and brand) that mirrors these emotions. For the design, we have opted for a sleek, masculine style. A website focused on the BBQ lifestyle with an old-fashioned American flavor and hue.

 

Kamado

The main products are  Kamado BBQs. So making sure these got a prominent place in design was a logical choice. Because we also created all the content ourselves it gave us a lot of creative freedom to highlight the products as we wanted them. With great results! One year after launch Bosgrill got awarded for best Kamado BBQ of 2022.

Interaction

Because of the heavy emphasis on experience. We taught it was crucial to not just design a one-stop shop. But create a complete experience on the website. A design that leaves space for storytelling and user interaction. Providing info, workshops, blogs, magazines, and the possibility for BBQ fans to interact with the site.

Strong Rebranding

As we said This client came to us already having an e-commerce brand that sold all kinds of stuff including BBQs. We directly advised making this a separate brand.  ”You buy BBQ with emotion”. It fits a certain lifestyle. Even though the products they developed are relatively low priced, we opted for a strong high-value brand message. Dutch people like a discount, but a master BBQ chef in training wants to feel that he cooks on something made of quality. Something special.

We took the old logo from the discount store and changed it into something powerful. Those who know can still see the old brand in it. The result was a strong brand, that in his first year 5xed the profit of the old one.

Font

Ah… Good old sans serif. A font style that is used by many big brands. Google, Apple. Nike, Twitter. We opted for Arvo which is a geometric sans-serif font created in 2010. It’s a font that is used a lot on blogs and marketing platforms. The combination of a font family that’s used by trusted brands as well as content-heavy scenarios felled just like the right balance for the brand style Bosgrill identifies with.

Color pallete

For the color palette, we went back to the roots of BBQ. All the colors we used can be seen back in the act of barbecuing itself. But next to this we wanted to have a bold eye-catching visual identity. Something that stands out on the shelves, with black standing for sophistication and elegance.
